To celebrate five years in operation, Blue Starlite Urban Drive-in Theater (1901 E. 51st St) wanted to do something special. And what’s more special than a film festival honoring the wizard of our generation, Harry Potter?
Over the course of 7 nights, Blue will show all eight films in the famous, record-breaking fantasy series. Each day will build upon the last, but catch-up synopses will be shown to include those who haven’t seen the film or can’t attend every day. Special Hogsmeade vendors, wands, and a magic treat cart will give viewers a much-needed escape from the muggle world. Feel free to wear your robes and represent your designated houses.
The festival begins at 8 p.m. on Wednesday with screenings of the young trio in the first and second films in the series, “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” and “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets”, respectively. See the entire schedule on our event listing. Blue Starlite provides many ticket options, some of which include concession packages for a discounted price. Passes for the entire festival can be purchased for $25, but general admission each day is $5.
If ticket prices seem too steep, check out our list of free things to do this week.
