Monday, 7:30 p.m.: The Gravy Brothers. Part of the “Artist in Residency” at Cactus Cafe (2247 Guadalupe Street.), these two bluegrass bros will play every Monday night in November. This week they’ll be joined by Billy Bright and Alan Munde.

Tuesday, 8:00 p.m.: The Canvas People. This local indie-rock band specializes in songwriting and three-part harmonies. They’re at The Blackheart (86 Rainey St) on Tuesday with The Wasted Hearts and Edison Chair.

Wednesday, 8:30 p.m.: Anthony Ray Wright. The Austin Beer Garden Brewing Co (1305 W Oltorf) presents Beer Drinkers and Hell Raisers with Anthony Ray Wright, a fast-fingered bluegrass artist.

Thursday, 6:15 p.m.: “The Dark Knight.” Movies In the Park at Republic Square presents a screening of 2008’s favorite superhero movie. Bring lawn chairs or a blanket.

Friday, 9:00 p.m.: The Moustache Show. Empire Control Room & Garage (606 E. 7th St) hosts a facial hair competition accompanied by live music from Boss Street Bass Band. Men with facial hair and women enter free. Men without facial hair must make a donation of $1 to Pancreatic Cancer Awareness.

Saturday, 12 p.m: Dog Beard and Moustache Competition. The Mohawk (912 Red River) and Austin Facial Hair Club teamed up with Austin Animal Center to bring you this one-of-a-kind dog facial hair competition. Show off your canine’s coiffure in one of nine categories. There is a $5 suggested donation upon admittance.

All weekend, 11 a.m.-6 p.m.: EAST Austin Studio Tour. This annual self-guided art event provides the public with the chance to meet local artists and artisans who impact Austin’s vibrant culture. Discover new talent, explore their studios, and learn about new tools and techniques.
