Use this weekend to broaden your horizons. One-2-One Bar (1509 S. Lamar) and Yellow House Records have put together a night of cultural enlightenment featuring three bands that all represent a different region of the world.

At 6 p.m., celebrate the CD release of Jonas Alvarez and enjoy the songwriting in his Latin tunes. Then at 7:30 p.m., Paula Maya, a keyboardist, takes the stage to bring some Brazilian flair to the party. And the final performers, Layalina, use multiple instruments to create their Arabic sound with classic, folk, and dance vibes.

Tickets for the show are $8. Half of all proceeds will benefit Casa Marianella, a non-profit shelter for immigrants and women and children escaping violence.
