After months riddled with controversial killings of black men by police, the campus of the University of Texas at Austin has found itself a host of multiple protests and discussions on the topic. On Monday, the Warfield Center for African and African American Studies hosts a free concert and conversation about police brutality.
The conversation will be led by Priscilla Hale, Director of allgo, a statewide Queer People of Color organization. Senior Associate Vice President of the Division of Diversity & Community Engagement Dr. Leonard Moore will also contribute.
BLXPLTN, an electro-punk band regularly featured in our weekly music picks, will perform live during the event.
Rebel Music: Police Brutality & the Sound of Protest will be held in room 2.206 of the Black & Latino Studies Building (210 W. 24th St) on the UT Austin campus at 3 p.m.
