For the past 20 years, the Austin Poetry Slam has entertained thousands of Austinites with a consistently running weekly show featuring slam poetry — a competitive hybrid art form mixing elements of poetry, theater, comedy and hip-hop performance, with the exact blend varying from performer to performer.

This year’s slam culminates in these two nights of shows featuring all-star lineups including Lacey Roop, Tony Jackson, Phil West and more.

The shows will take audiences back in time by revisiting the two-decade history of the Austin Poetry Slam.

Details: 7 and 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. $6 per show or $10 for both. Spider House Ballroom, 2906 Fruth St. austinslam.com.
