Funky Austin coffeeshop/bar/music venue Spider House is entering the nuptial business. The campus-area spot will hold “a big free community marriage equality celebration” July 18 at 7 p.m., including wedding ceremonies and a reception, according to a news release.

Partnering with the Austin Chronicle as a sponsor, the event promises DJs, flowers, professional wedding photography, a slice of wedding cake from Sugar Mama’s Bakeshop, a photo booth and discounted rates on wedding announcements in the Chronicle. An officiant will be on hand, as will “performances curated by Austin International Drag Foundation.” Spider House will donate a portion of the night’s food and drink proceeds to Austin Pride, according to the news release.

Interested couples, whether getting married or interested in renewing their vows, can email spiderhitched@spiderhouseaustin.com to get a spot. Couples who want to get married will need to bring their marriage license to the event. Read more on Spider House’s Facebook page.

Since June’s U.S. Supreme Court ruling striking down same-sex marriage bans across the country, marriage celebrations have sprung up around Austin, including a July 4 event dubbed “The Big Gay Wedding.” Watch coverage of that celebration below.
