Thursday’s event pick: National IPA Day

Uncle Billy's is a haven for hop lovers. Brewer Michael Waters says he always has at least 1-2 IPAs on the rotating menu, and many of the other beers are typically hop-forward as well.

Fans of the India Pale Ale beer style, today is your day. Bars and breweries all over the country are showing their love for the IPA by bringing out all their best examples of these beers for you to try, and that’s no different in Austin.

At Sunset Valley’s Stouthaus Coffee Pub, seven IPAs will be tapped in honor of this hop-loving holiday — three from Texas, three from around the U.S. and maybe one wild card, too. Taste them for a Texas vs. U.S. blind tasting contest.
