Astronomy On Tap. Grab a beer and learn from the best. This week, accomplished astronomers will discuss the Kepler spacecraft, the new practice of searching for planets and how to do astronomy in your own backyard. 7:30-9:30 p.m. The North Door, 502 Brushy Street., 512-710-9765.

Diez Y Seis Neighborhood Fiesta. Celebrate Mexico’s independence from Spain by making tortillas, eating hot dogs, swinging at a piñata, and participating in a homemade salsa contest. 5-7 p.m. Parque Zaragoza Recreation Center, 2608 Gonzales St., 512-472-7142.

International Music Exchange Program. Classical Music for the World presents a concert featuring instrumentalists from Germany, Korea, and Austin. Guests can meet the artists at the post-performance reception. 7-8:30 p.m. First Baptist Church of Austin, 901 Trinity St.


Lone Star Saber Summit. Meet the crew of Zebra Imaging who are working on an amazing project for Disney here in Austin and learn how to swing a lightsaber. 6-8 p.m. Butler Park, 1000 Barton Springs Rd.
