Artist Leah Dyjak uses sand, salt and line to make her drawings that chart the unknown. She’s fascinated by the coastline: a boundary between where we walk and where we float. By bringing it to life in her solo show at Pump Project, she can explore how our perception changes with the landscape, as inevitably as the shifting tides. Plus, the sand in her works has an actual touch of the coast in it: It’s been broken down by her hand, then worn by the salty air.
