2017 MLK Day of Service. Honor King’s legacy by spending your day volunteering at events around the Austin area, sponsored by the United Way. Register to volunteer here.

24th Annual MLK Citywide March, Rally and Festival. March from the MLK statue on the University of Texas campus to the Capitol for a short program, then continue on to Huston-Tillotson University. While you’re at the Capitol, check out the Austin Remembers: MLK app for Android and iPhone. Visitors to the Capitol will be able to view a virtual installation and four mini-documentary videos from the app.

Eat pie for a good cause with Peace Through Pie celebrations across Austin. There are various times and locations for the events throughout the weekend on Addie Broyles’ blog, and you can read more about the program here.

San Marcos MLK Day Parade. The parade will start on West San Antonio Street at Guadalupe Street in San Marcos and then will continue to Dunbar Park.

Georgetown MLK Day March and Program. The march will start at the Williamson County Courthouse and end at Macedonia Baptist Church on Martin Luther King Jr. Street.
