Where to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Austin

St. Patrick’s Day may have its roots in Christianity, but modern society has turned it into a celebration of Irish roots, green beer, green clothes and well, green everything. Here’s where you can celebrate in Austin.

St. Patrick’s Day at Fado Irish PubCelebrate at Austin’s biggest St. Patrick’s Day party. It starts at 11 a.m. and tickets are $15.

Scoot x St. Paddy’sCheck out live music at the Scoot Inn with Low Cut Connie, Night Drive, Manatee Commune, Sweet Crude, Black Eyed Vermillion and more. The party starts at noon, but arrive early (it is South by Southwest, after all).

Irish I was in Bastrop St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl. Food and drink at five locations in Bastrop, including sampling traditional Irish drinks. Tickets are $25 per person and the crawl starts at 7 p.m.

St Patrick’s Day at Jack and Ginger’s. Green beer, beer cheese, Shepherd’s Pie and more. The party starts at 1 p.m.

Strange Land Brewery’s St. Patrick’s Day Party. The brewery will offer a one-time-only small batch Irish Stout and a barrel-aged Jameson Irish Whiskey Stout starting at 5 p.m.

Pinthouse PizzaDrink special Irish beers and buy custom T-shirts at both  locations and enjoy a pipes and drums band. The party starts at 11 a.m.

Lavaca St. Bar at Rock RoseHave a green beer and listen to an 80s cover bandCostumes encouraged! The bar opens at 11 a.m.

Austin St. Patrick’s Day Irish Stroll. It’s a full night of parties and bar crawls at Steampunk Saloon starting at 5 p.m.

Saint Patrick’s Day Austin at Pioneer FarmsNo green beer, no leprechauns, but lots of Irish tradition. $15 for adults and $5 for kids. The party starts at 1 p.m.

St. Patrick’s Day flea marketFind handmade, vintage and local items for sale from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday at the ABGB.

North by Northwest Stonelake. Enjoy a special cask-tapped Irish Stout and Red Zeppelin, Irish stew and soda bread and Irish music starting at 4 p.m.

Opal Divine’s. Guiness on tap, along with fish and chips and Irish Stew. The restaurant opens at 11 a.m.

St. Patrick’s Day at Sheraton Georgetown$3 green Stella drafts and $3 brisket sliders starting at 6 p.m.

St. Patrick’s Day with Robynn Shane. Live music at Moontower Saloon. The music starts at 8 p.m.

St. Patrick’s Day Austin Bash. Lucky Charms in your Guinness beer, if you’re into that sort of thing. Sherlock’s up north and Baker Street on South Lamar are both participating.
